So, your slides suck? Here's why...

1️⃣ You’re putting too much on the page

🧐 Does it look more like a report than a presentation?
☝🏻 Try and stick to one key point per slide

💡 Top Tip!

Use notes for your Voiceover and keep your script off of the slide

2️⃣ You’re drawing attention to irrelevant data

🧐 Can you cut it out?
☝🏻 If you can still follow the story without that excel chart… delete it!!

💡 Top Tip!

If you’re unsure, hide the slide during your presentation rehearsal and see if the story still flows. Chances are, that complicated line graph is unnecessary detail

3️⃣ Half your charts are illegible

🧐 Can it be turned into something more visual?
☝🏻 Figure out what message you want to draw from the graph and use that instead. If you can’t read the numbers… what’s the point?

💡 Top Tip!

A presentation specialist (like myself) can create fully editable infographics from data, making the message digestible by the audience.

Need to show evidence? You can always send an appendix with those included after the meeting.

4️⃣ Your images are poor quality and/or unrelated to the content

🧐 Can you find something better?
☝🏻 Use high quality imagery relating to your content. If you’re talking about sales and profitability with a picture of a London skyline, it’s not inspiring anyone.
