Tails.com Presentation Template

Client: Tails.com

Sector: FMCG / DTC

The Challenge

Following a couple of smaller projects together, Tails.com approached me to rework their internal Google Slides template and create something that felt bolder, more playful, and a better reflection of their evolving brand.

The project became a long-term collaboration, developing over several months as the wider brand refresh rolled out. The aim was to bring new creative direction and functionality into one cohesive, easy-to-use system that could serve teams across the business.

The challenge was to design a new template that encouraged flexibility without losing control, something that allowed for individuality while keeping every deck recognisably Tails.com.

There was also a technical layer to solve. Because Google Slides offers limited control over master placeholders, the build needed a smarter setup behind the scenes to make the design work as intended.

The goal was to create a presentation system that balanced creativity, usability, and consistency, one that could grow with the brand and support the team’s day-to-day needs long term.

The Solution

Designing for Google Slides, built in PowerPoint

To give the brand the flexibility and precision it needed, I built the base template in PowerPoint first. This allowed for full control over master layouts, and placeholders, all of which would translate cleanly into Google Slides. Once the foundation was set, I imported and expanded the system directly in Slides, testing as I went to make sure every feature worked seamlessly in practice.

Balancing structure and freedom

The final build included over 130 slides, offering multiple layout options for different content types. The aim was to give teams the confidence to adapt slides to their needs while keeping the brand structure intact. The template also included clear guidance and prompts throughout to help users make smart design choices and stay consistent.

Playful but practical design

This project was built in close collaboration with Tails.com’s creative team. Together we explored how to translate the playful energy of the brand into presentation form while keeping it simple and intuitive to use.

The focus was on creating a flexible design system with a carefully considered master build, something clean and functional for everyday internal decks, yet adaptable enough to scale up for high-profile or more design-led presentations.

The Result

The finished template gave Tails.com a presentation system that feels as playful and considered as the brand itself. It’s easy for teams to use day to day, but robust enough to handle bigger creative moments when needed.

Teams now have more freedom without the risk of things going off-brand. It’s a long-term system that will continue to evolve with the brand, a collaborative project that turned a simple template rebuild into a genuinely strategic design tool.
